Sissy was exhibited at STRP Festival '10. STRP is one of the largest art & technology festivals in Europe, that fuses music art and technology. At STRP you find interactive art, light art, robotics, concerts, DJs, theatrical and dance performances, experimental music, interviews, discussion, live cinema, films, lectures, video art, animation and workshops.
Sissy, the outcome of an internship at Philips (see projects) together with Lizette Reitsma, was redesigned for the STRP festival. Hadewig Boerman an internship student at Philips and Tom Bergman of the Visual Experience Department have designed the behavior of Sissy specially for the STRP festival.
Sissy is based on the philosophy of slow technology and tries to challenge her visitors by observing her behavior. Looking at and listening to Sissy results in relaxation but also provides more understanding on her personality. You also will find out that Sissy has a comfort-zone in which she feels home.
